“It wasn’t over, it still wasn’t over”: Rachel McAdams Went Through Torture to Shoot an Uncomfortable Scene With Ex-lover Ryan Gosling

Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling had a very sweet romance for quite a while. They starred in a few projects together and were once one of the hottest couples in Hollywood. Their short-lived relationship was quite eventful and had many incidents that helped forge their bond even stronger. One such incident was while they were filming their 2004 movie The Notebook.

More specifically, the boat scene later gained critical acclaim from audiences. The actress remembers it as one of the most horrible experiences while shooting the movie. What happened was a terrible rainstorm that swept through the scene area and made filming extremely difficult. In the sequence, McAdams wore an elaborate costume, and it was damaged and destroyed by the relentless rain. Nevertheless, fans loved the scene, and it became an iconic part of the film, which people remember very fondly to date.

Rachel McAdams is one of the most in-demand talents, whose acting skills and on-screen persona make her a huge asset for any project she is involved with. The London native star has worked with enough A-list celebrities, including her alleged former flame Barbie star Ryan Gosling.

The actors shared the screen in their 2004 American romantic drama The Notebook. Their undeniable chemistry in the movie turned into an off-screen romance, and they began dating. However, they called it quits in 2007. Both stars have since dated many actors in the industry.

McAdams once revealed that she was uncomfortable filming a scene in the movie with Gosling. In the flick, the actress played the role of Allie, while the Lost River movie star played her love interest, Noah. “That dress was made for the film, but a lot of the stuff I wore was rented and was actually from the 1940s. So much of it was falling apart.

I think there’s a scene in the movie where I’m running in bare feet, and it’s only because [after] the first few takes I did, the shoes disintegrated off my feet.” This anecdote shows how uncomfortable acting jobs can be and how actors often perform some of the most challenging parts to give their best to the projects they are involved with.
