Patrick Mahomes' Father Explains why he never wished his son would Become A Football Player Thought It Was Waste Of Time
Recently, he made headlines when he became the highest-rated player overall in the Madden 24 ratings. But, only a few people know that his father didn’t want him to pursue a football career.
Pat Mahomes Sr., the father of the NFL star was himself a great baseball pitcher. He astonished everyone with his game throughout his 11-year MLB career. Just like his father, the Chiefs star also used to play three sports in his high school.
He was a great football, basketball, and baseball player. Mahomes Sr. reportedly believed that his son could have the best career in baseball though.
He grew up in the clubhouse, he was always around the game, and he was always the best player on his baseball team.
I always thought he was gonna be a baseball player… I just thought we were wasting time when he could have been working on the sports he would go to college for, baseball and basketball.
Plus, I didn’t want him to get hurt,” Mahomes Sr said in an interview.
According to reports, it was the mother of Patrick Mahomes who asked his father to let him play football. Randi Martin reportedly asked Mahomes Sr to leave everything to “God”.
Now, Mahomes’ father believes that the quarterback’s experience in baseball and basketball has helped him in football.
If Randi Martin wouldn’t have intervened, the NFL might not have seen the talent of Patrick Mahomes. The star player is all set currently to blow everyone’s mind through his game this season.
